'55 GMC 250 in N.C for sale

I went last weekend and checked this out. It has a straight 6 not running, a wood stake flatbed and sweet 19" inch steel wheels up front with GMC hubcaps. It looks like there's a dually rear end but only has single wheels.

Interior was in really good shape and the floor boards were in pretty good shape. But the hood was jacked, driver door, fender and the grille need some deep tissue massaging.

I really wanted to buy it but it's a little on the rough side for me. Just have replaced all those parts on my 59 Chevy. But it would still make a good project for someone and it's not everyday a 55 GMC pops up on craigslist, lol

Re: '55 GMC 250 in N.C for sale

It's a 1957 GMC, even more rare than a '55 at the end of the day. We've got 2 '57 GMC's and have come to love the frontend, but not as much as I love the 55/56 front grilles. Those 19s are extremely rare rims also from back then. Looks like a $500-1000 truck for the most part. I'd be ok around $5-600 for it if it were near me that's for sure lol

Hell the guy told me a 55, ha... Yeah he had it listed for $1000 obo. I was thinking I'd offer 5. But he also didnt have the title.... How hard would it be to find a grille and hood for these trucks? That's the main two things that steered me away

Nice find and a great deal
I like the patina (aka rust) on the panels.

That steering wheel looks 58/59 Chevy... did it have a center button with a GMC logo?

No title means $500 truck & finding a '57 GMC front end or even a good '55/56 front is damn near impossible. Not many good ones left.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. The grille and hood were pretty shot and would probably be hard as hell to find. Oh well maybe I'll stumble across another 55-57 GMC in life one day!
