Unhappy First post

I haven't posted before as I am not spiffy. My dad died in 1977 and his daughter is my new mom. She has tried, but some bumps and bruises. She asked for a rebuild my dad's widow promised would pay $10k in 1996, but widow's BF lied to shop stating he was the "husband" of my dad's widow or stepfather to my new mom and paying for everything. Do not do what she wants meaning fully restored. Do it fast and cheap. My excellent original 396 engine swapped for another engine with most of block numbers obliterated. Last year mechanic contacted GM with partial block numbers and found this 402 was original to 1972 Chevelle which when in 1996 I was to be restored that shop did have Chevelle as well. They switched my engine. Mom spent alot of money to keep me running, but money her mom promised she never paid as he con man BF spent all her inheritance and my mom got ripped off from many mechanics. My compressor stolen, yes I used to have factory air, now no heat. Stupid BF sold my wheels with GMC hubcap and bought different size wheels which are only. Mom put down payment on pretty wheels and that Big O franchise went bankrupt and whoever you bought franchise said too bad, so sad. Now mom sad she couldn't restore me and now we are 57. We went to Tombstone and the guys loved me even though missing alot of chrome. I still run and this last mechanic is good to us. Too bad she can't afford to spiff me up. The White Ghost.

That is a sad story. A lot of drama for sure. Hopefully you will get everything straightened out on it.

Your story kind of confused me until I realized that the truck was telling the story....

Welcome to the best truck board on the net.

Re: First post

"I still run and this last mechanic is good to us" is the best part of the story, that is great. The guys in Tombstone know chrome don't get you home. Not spiffy is A-OK, my dad wants to see pictures anyway. Welcome.

White Ghost...

Each time Mom is near, use your strong influence and make your best attempt to project the spiffiest, most spiffy image of yourself possible directly to her. Fill her with warmth and goodness while transmitting your projection. The idea is to help her mentally picture the future, fully spiffed image of you.

You could start small by encouraging Mom to take some pictures and post them Online so other Moms and Dads might help her along in you spiffiness, spiff up process.

Good luck White Ghost and welcome to this place...my Dad really likes it and it's been a net positive for me!

Re: First post

I had to read this a few times and then wait for someone else to post before I figured out what was going on. New twist for sure.
