Post pics of back-halved trucks

Got my brother into these trucks and he went out and bought one yesterday.

He was telling me he is thinking about back-halfing the truck to fit a 20x14 wheel.

I must be out of the loop. I don't have a clue what you mean by back-halfing...

Had to Google it myself: From the Slang dictionary

Lexical Item or Phrase: Back-halfing

Meaning: The process of modifying a truck by cutting the frame off behind the cab and replacing it with a tube frame or a flatbed.

Date Collected: 01/19/2007

I'm in the same boat. Although I have heard that phrase before I wasn't sure what it meant.
For some reason I kept picturing a blazer with the top shorten'd to make it look like a truck.

Re: Post pics of back-halved trucks

same as doing a camaro/nova etc.. cut it off around the rear seat area and adding a whole new 4-link style suspension with big ol fat tires...... nice thing is you can fit 31x18.5x15's under this truck just by tubbing the bed and using stock suspension.......... as you can see ive been there done it............

Re: Post pics of back-halved trucks

leaf spring or coil rear? makes a big difference. if its coil spring then he wont need to modify the frame, just widen the wheel tubs

Re: Post pics of back-halved trucks

yeah drag racing is mostly where its used

our school car is back halfed to fit the slicks

al it is, is the rear frame is too wide to fit wide tires, so they chop off the back, and make a skinnier frame to house everything
