We have probably had at least 20 Cheyenne supers total, but I don’t remember ever having or seeing an original super with hounds tooth saddle interior. I have seen plenty of Cheyenne’s with a full vinyl saddle seat and our longhorn Cheyenne super has saddle buckets, but I have never seen an original hounds tooth saddle seat. Anyone know?? Or have pics?……………….Thanks Jason

Jason, I am not sure if they did or not. I know of parchment, blue, green, and black for 72. Not 100% sure if they did make saddle in houndstooth. Trevor

Trevor, I was wondering about black too. When I say black, I mean black vinyl with black and white hounds tooth. I don't remember ever seeing one of those( original ones) either.

According to the Truck Data Book, the only Cheyenne Super colors available for bench seats were Blue (610), Olive (632), and Parchment (626). Oddly, with bucket seats (Vinyl) the following colors were available for Cheyenne or Cheyenne-Super
Black (602), Blue (608), Olive (630), Parchment (626), Saddle (616).

That sort of what I was thinking. Not because I read it somewhere, but because Of all the trucks I have ever seen/owned, when I think about it, I have never seen saddle or black vinyl with hounds tooth (Cheyenne super) seat. ...................Thanks Jason.

I had a saddle houndstooth cover made by C.A.R.S. back about 20 years ago before I ever saw any reproductions made because I wanted something factory looking yet custom. I don't recall where from,but I had the info that these were never offered.

Yep, you guys are right. I don't always have the 100% accurate info, but always remember after someone sparks old thoughts. LOL I was pretty certain no saddle, and I knew no red interior besides the larger trucks. Trevor

SMS Auto Fabrics is not only a great source for hard to find materials, but they are also very knowledgeable about what was actually available in specific vehicles. I wanted to have parchment / red houndstooth and they told me it was not available in our trucks, but Buick used it, and they had it.

Kind of strange when you think about it. It limited the cheyenne super to only 3 interiors (except buckets). I guess that is why you see alot of original supers with parchment interior, because the are several exterior colors that would not go good with green or blue.......Jason

Yeah,it was the beginning of limiting options to get a package. Like highlanders only being Parchment with 4 choices of cloth insert.

Here's the book. I've had it several years (got it off ebay) and it has very valuable information. It does have a Highlander interior chart, however, it calls it "Plaid trim" and does not mention Highlander. I'll try to get some better pics or scans later.
