Installed a new air cleaner!
Nothing too special...just wanted to see how many of you guys were bored enough to look.
![]() It is part of the project to clean up the nasty old engine that was in my 71 Cheyenne SWB. I got the truck painted in a hurry and didn't get the engine cleaned up first...that is not the way to do it...what a mess. |

...as you can see I powdercoated the intake, pulleys & brackets. Matching valve covers and notice I hooked up the pcv valve (built in breather) and the vent hose from valve cover to air cleaner. I use a 1" aluminum spacer to lift the air cleaner just enough to clear the hei. The stock tin spacer is just too tall and not cool.

Looks very nice with a good mix of color, finish, and texture. May I ask what the powdercoating cost and what color the intake manifold is?

I do stock & sell the valve covers & air cleaners and 1" spacers.
The intake is silver metalic. It has a lot of metal flake in it. I can't give you a price as I have a lot of pieces done and get commercial rates. Remember the center ports are probably going to burn off if you have the open intake gaskets for stock choke. I drill & tap the bottom of the air cleaner and use a heater hose fitting to connect the hose to an elbow in the valve cover. The hose to air cleaner is just a lot cleaner & dryer than breathers on a daily driver. The pvc alone lets the motor build up too much pressure and blows out the gaskets. Don't ask me how I know. ![]() |

Frank...your carb is on backwards! It is going to make your engine run backwards. Don't start it...SERIOUSLY!

pcv/breather
Try Summit or Jegs...The hose is just hose and the air cleaner fitting is a heater hose fitting. I cannot remember where I got that elbow and I need some more.
