Air Intake

Hi All,
Need some help with my air intake. As of now I have a modified stock air intake with spectra air filter attached going to the passenger side. This is fine for now but I am going to be putting in a DD high mount A/C system with sanden compressor and I wont be able to use the modified stock air intake as it appears to hug the engine too much.

The other problem I have is it seams all aftermarket stuff is for the circular MAF and not the type I have. Mine is a stick looking one that you have to drill a hole in the intake tube to put it in. Also, my MAF is wired up for passenger side so going the other direction will be too big a pain.

What is everyone using that has the same style MAF I do when they go aftermarket?

Thanks for any help!

Re: Air Intake

i used the ebay cheapie CAI intake. It came with the adapter needed to go from the truck style maf to the diameter of the tube. I'm sure you could delete that and use the ls3 maf. I know they make a bung you can weld on so it's a super clean install.

when I have time to re-do it properly i'll make my own "kit" from a pile of spectra parts

Re: Air Intake

My 2011 LC9 has the blade style. I am using a spectra cold air kit designed for the 2011 Silverado truck the motor came from. May add an extension.

Re: Air Intake

whats wrong with the stock one? or are you using blade style? ( i though that was the benefit to the blade style, no need for a screen)

Re: Air Intake

Nothing wrong with it for me, I just need to redo my intake and am trying to find a mount or something for it to put on he aftermarket intake. Everything seems to be for the round one.

Re: Air Intake

oh no, sorry man I was askin Hart why he thinking about adding a screen. I was under the impression that the blade style MAF sensor was used specifically to not have to use a straightener.

I'm new to these motors, and EFI in general so I'm just curious.

Good luck finding the right round bung for your set up.
