How wide are....

....our trucks? reason I ask is I'm looking at trailer to haul my 2wd blazer and shortbed around, trailer is about 72 inches between the fenders and I was wondering if my trucks would fit wide wise.

Thanks for the responses.

Re: How wide are....

with narrow tires, you MIGHT get in there.
My book shows 79 inches at the rockers, but no listing for the tires.
I'll look some more for you though.

Well that leaves that trailer outta the question then , I'll be putting wider wheels/tires than stock in my '67 and the blazer, well you know it definately doesn't have the stock wheel anymore

Thanks Andy.

Re: How wide are....

I hauled my lowered 2wd Jimmy on a similar trailer. I will try to get the fender measurements on that one for you. I can tell you that I didn't have much extra room.

Re: How wide are....

I just measured my Jimmy, 77 1/2" was the least I could get it, and I would say that 79" is probably more accurate, but I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.
I believe my trailer is 86" wide fender to fender.

Re: How wide are....

Thanks for the responses 68haywagon and 71swb4x4, I now know for a fact that trailer I was looking at won't fly is more like an utility trailer that has metal rails all around so the body won;t even fit in there

The search for a bigger cheap trailer goes on

Just get a tow bar, no license plates required on a tow bar.

Re: How wide are....

I know 'bout the towbar, but I'm foreseeing that I'll need a trailer when I take the frame with only the drivetrain to get the exhaust installed, them front wheels don't track worth $hit with a tow bar when you're only pulling an almost bare bones chassis, ask me how I know

Re: How wide are....

68haywagon, I always gotta be hunting down uhauls since they never seem to have one when I need it, having one of my own would make things so much easier, BTW I'm about 1 hr S. of Harrisburg in Hanover.

bigblockc10, Thanks for the offer, that's very generous of you!

I still got some pics of your truck you sent me a long time ago somewhere in my computer, does it still look like the pic in your avatar?

Re: How wide are....

I towed my 70 stepside from Knoxville to Memphis on U-Haul trailer. It is a 400 mile trip. Did not have any problems. I will tell you this, it is a tight fit. My tires are 255/70/15. Make sure you have someone guide you on the trailer, there is not any room for mistakes.
