Re: opinions on this color
It would look great if you are going to run a chrome grill and bumpers but I think it would be overkill if it was monochromatic. The wheels would have to be bright enough to not disappear in the tires like they do now. I was musing on the way home tonight on how a set of those solid aluminum wheels (no holes) from the early 80's would look powdercoated or painted a complimentary color with chrome/stainless nuts and caps.

Re: opinions on this color
there will be chrome bumpers, grill , lug nuts, chrome bullet hub covers, polished stainless trim around windows, the headlights are frenched so chrome rings there, chrome tails.

Off topic but are those fiberglass front and rear fenders? Just curious.

everything is steel. I might do flames down the road. For now I just want paint and to drive it. Thanks everyone. Im super excited to see it painted. Over a year of bodywork to get everything fitting correctly. |

Re: opinions on this color
Do It! That color with the chrome and white upholstery will look great. We all have our individual tastes in color shades, but I have a weakness for that one. Almost went with that myself. And...maybe...I'm starting to regret not going there.

That combo will look great on that truck. As nice as your truck is any color would look great.

Re: opinions on this color
I'll take another view. I think blue is a girly color & do not like it on trucks. I have done quite a few trks & the best colors have been black then red...IMHO.

I'll get a pic of my hood, since I shot it today. This is deff gunna be the color though. Ima need some dope or something to get me trough the next week, my nerves are already starting to go crazy and Im not really painting it yet. I really need a pin striper too. I want some free hand done on my firewall before the cab goes on. Shaved firewall is semi-boring. chrome front end- not that it has to do with anything but I built a custom rad support to drop my rad 5" and cut down the stock under hood panel a few inches. I think it looks way better can the engine is much more visable. anyways, I cant wait to have it painted. |

Re: opinions on this color
That truck is going to be sick. I love that grille. Take your time painting it. Paint the jams and under the hood. Then paint the body another day. I will all be worth it in the end. Are you in a hurry to finish it? What is the rush?

Re: opinions on this color
Im in no rush to paint it, its just been along time coming and such a different feeling to see paint going on the panels I've labored on for a year.
Im painting it all blown apart. I did all the body work together but I blew it apart to paint it. I painted the outside of the hood just to check the color, but I know usually the inside is done first. The only rush is Im going back to school in 3-4 weeks. Im only 19 so I still got 3 years of college before I enter the real world. |

Re: opinions on this color
cajundragger, I love the color! Guess why….
Do you have any mock ups of the interior? I’m still undecided on the color of my upholstery. BTW, the color of my cab is Viper Blue and probably will look black at night. Blue ROCKS! (even if it's girly, in my case..) |

Re: opinions on this color
my interior is just a stock dash, cut down bench for my brothers 72, and a shifter attached to a 6spd. The wheel I have is from a '61 Impala and the column is one from a rodster so its just a tube with a flange on the end.
Im going a bright white interior and will probably do a white tuck and roll seat with blue piping. Not sure on the color, but honda has a simple bright white that I may use. some pics.. heres some pics. |

Re: opinions on this color
Cajun, bright white would be stunning on your truck's interior. Personally, I'm leaning towards an ivory color for seats & door panels with light blue carpet and dash pad. Obviously we both want to keep the interior light.
Have you begun a build thread? I'm sure many of us would love to follow along... |

You are a talented kid. Doing all that at 19, good for you. Keep it up. Maybe one day I will pay you to build a truck for me. What are you majoring in?
