Where to look for '57 3/4 T hubcaps?
Good day all,
Sadly, one of my original hubcaps is missing on my '57 Chevy 3800 3/4 T extended long box (8 bolt single rim) and I am having a hell of a time trying to find a replacement. All of the sources I have looked at only have hub caps suitable for a 1/2 T which are too small...My hub cap's outside diameter is 11 inches and inside is 9 inches... and the 1/2 Ton ones are 10/8 inches respectively. Does anyone know where I can look for one or a set? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Sam |

post a pic and I will watch craigslist around here in case one pops up. Give some dimensions too, some are only 1/2" or so different across the back.

Sam, try classicparts.com. They show a repro cap for a 3/4 ton, but they say 49 - 53. If you call, they might be willing to take some dimensions and check it out.
Also, there is one on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT States 1954, but sure looks like it might fit. Harry |

I did and all the ones I could find on there are for 1/2 T which appear to be an 1" smaller in diameter to what I need. I am really bummed now, as I thought it would not be a big deal to find one... alas.. Cheers, Sam |

Thanks for your suggestions! I did try both places with no luck. The one in the link is a "half moon" style, whereas mine are like a cone with the four Chevy bowties surrounding it. It looks like the lower right one in this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hub-C...item1e5f0e6cb6 I mailed the fellow to see if he can send me some dimensions. Mine look identical to this one at ClassicParts, except mine is 1" bigger in diameter and is painted off-white: http://www.classicparts.com/1957-60-...ctinfo/64-025/ Cheers, Sam Last edited by sam512bb; 02-11-2011 at 07:16 PM. Re: Where to look for '57 3/4 T hubcaps?
Are you looking for an original one to restore or are you looking for a new one. I have some old center caps in my shop and one of them fit on my 56 3/4 ton with the inside clips and my friend said it was a cap from a 57. I only have one and it looks like the one you posted a picture of but in white. My rims are 15'' eight lug split rims. pm me and i will measure it for you. Thanks Josh

I am looking for really anything at this point. I only need one (my was either lost or stolen), but would buy a full set if needed. The one you have certainly sounds like it is the same one. If you can measure the outside and inside widths that would be great, as this way we would know for sure. Thanks again! Cheers, Sam |

Re: Where to look for '57 3/4 T hubcaps?
Good day Number 9,
Sadly, Jim Carter as well as the usual sources do not seem to have hub caps for mid to late 50's 3/4 or 1 ton trucks...They do have them for early 50's, etc but these are incorrect and are also the wrong size and so you cannot use these. Interestingly, 1/2 ton versions are available everywhere! Thanks for the comment! Cheers, Sam |

My apologies for placing this thread, as when I read the info it did not specify that one had to be a subscribed level to post a want to buy, etc. It only stated if one "occasionally" sells parts. I will look to subscribing to your site. Cheers, Sam |
