Brake pedal height

Just replaced the power booster and m/c the PO updated to a power booster or just added a power booster. But when I took the booster and brackets off the firewall to install new and replace the boot. When I took the rod loose from the pedal the threaded rod end was only holding by 2 threads. Thank god for the jam nut being tight. So I tightened the rod ends about another 3/8". So now my pedal is close to the same height as the gas pedal please see picture. The m/c and booster is for a stock 72 I haven't finished the brake job on the front and rear yet but I want to know what the best height for the pedal ?

Re: Brake pedal height

When installed with power brakes the brake pedal height is close to the accelerator height. Outside of making another longer rod the height you have is normal.
