Tremec in a low hump 67

Does anyone know if a Tremec will clear the low hump floor on 67-72? I'm really hoping it will because I have the tranny already, new carpet and I don't really feel like hacking up the tunnel to make it fit or find out I need to source a tall hump during the install as well as a new moulded carpet. I've heard many different stories saying yes, no, sort of.... The truck is going to be a big block so the engine will be in the forward position.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Tremec in a low hump 67

i HAVE A TKO 500 and a 454 in a '72 2wd Blazer... low hump. I didn't do the swap but the trans. clears the floor w/no mods. Hyd. clutch makes for a clean installation and works great. Eliminates Z-bar / header clearance issues.

I am running a T56 in mine and it is close but it does fit. Mine is behind a ls motor so the mounts will make a difference on fitment with mine.

Re: Tremec in a low hump 67

I just put a TKO 600 in mine. Low hump 1970. There is a pinch seam where the firewall meets the hump that had to be hammered flat, but otherwise no issues. My engine is in the rearward L-6 mounting spot. Check my build thread for pics.

This was just covered in classic trucks magazine or custom classic trucks. Either way, as stated it will fit. If you don't like the clearance you can cut out the low hump and install a high hump. That is the part covered in the magazine.
