Re: NHRA super street ?

2800lb minimum (with driver), no nitrous, gotta have a hood. Everything else is more or less like bracket racing requirments. Just call the division 4 office about your number. You might have to get a different one for SST

I forgot about the Pampers. Call DRE they are about the cheapest. Also NHRARacer.com is where you download the pdf of the rules.

Re: NHRA super street ?

hotrod, just be ready to run with the likes of Regan in the other lane,, I hate when I'm paired with a good S/ST racer.

LOL , some pretty tough customers run S/ST. It's a very different top end race when these guys are running 10.90 @ 150 and 160MPH. Some HUGE HP in this class.
The disk type throttle stop is WAY better, but if your looking for a linkage type throttle stop and controller, email me.

Man guys , I would be the "under dog" there would be no throttle stop . I would be cutting a light and driving it out with my typical spot drop ( did I say that out loud ) . They can do whatever .

Nothing against Regan , but I make like 300 passes a year in both E & No-E and last weekend I watched from the suite and seen a ton of big end mistakes . Might end up running super gas anyway .

Re: NHRA super street ?

Marv thanks for the ego boost. Hotrod all the seat time you get will no doubt be an asset. One of the biggest things in Super class racing is the downtime and the fact when you run first round its usually on Sunday morning. The weather conditions can change completely. Its not uncommon for the guys with the best weather and prediction equipment be lost first round. I always say I love first round, you know most of them are nervous. I have learned to channel the nerves in the right direction. I just rely on my driving ability and my bag of tricks(that comes from losing everyway you can) You never know which trick to pull out of the bag till you need it. As far as the way you will be racing with no throttle stop I know it can be done. Ive seen alot of cars go rounds that way. A few years back there was a guy in the midwest that ran a no box 4 speed Camaro at a divisional and won it. Come out and play you might get hooked.

Re: NHRA super street ?

A friend of ours used to run a 6spd stock motor Camaro (not in super street), leaving off the foot and was shockingly competitive for a while. His biggest asset was consistency in the fact that the engine was as-built. I guess sometimes its not about what you've got, but what you don't.

Does the engine diaper have to be SFI or not for S/ST?

Re: NHRA super street ?

The last 12 years I ran in Super Gas/Street, I ran without electronics...mainly because, I got tired of changing out everything between running in NHRA and the nostalgia circuit (C and D/Gas), which for a good stretch was every other weekend to three weekends a month. The big MPH is for tie break situations, but I used to be somewhat successful because I would throw a lot of the guys off by just running my own race since they would be running me down instead of trying to gauge my fender - I won a lot of break out races.

Just a sportsman type of lower engine containment device is all you need. Let me know if I can help with that.

I hear ya…4 of my best 5 career packages, all .007 and under, were losses. It's very humbling.

Re: NHRA super street ?

Hotrod they are supposedly going to take down the fence and use other side (dirt track side) for some of the pits. They really need to get the race in. Just go out there and make it through the first round and you'll have me beat.lol

Re: NHRA super street ?

They changed the open time for parking already to 10 AM . It has not stopped raining yet . We have been wet down hear for a week . We will see . With a southeast wind the trackis directly down wind from the water . This makes for alot of rain . They have a pretty good drainage system with pumps and such .

Yes , 2 decent time trials . Too fast on the first -.,015 red and 10.81 . Moved the shift point and went to the delay button . 10.92 second TT . Still learning (think NO-E) . Paid $40 to enter gamblers race and went to 8 cars . Had a bad burnout , spun and couldn't run the number , I was ,004 to his .013 . He went 10.94 to my 10.98 . Instantly looked down at my nitrous valve ad though ...........****...... Should have killed the shift timer (set at 6000) and strung it out to put some ET back in . A lot going on in a short time . My MPH is like 118 . I'll post a pic of the time slip later .

Apparently beam breakers are illegal in super street ? The guy I ran at 16 cars had one , 67' firebird . We will see what tomorrow holds . Hoping I got a decent handle on it . Worst light besides the red was .021 . Truck is doing good Im at 2875# and really need to swap tires but im staying with these .

Top dragster went .006 red in the gambler semis . Good day for sure . They are craming everything in tomorrow . we will finish tomorrow night .

Re: NHRA super street ?

Well I didn't fair so well .... the bad I broke a planet in time trials .......the good I got the trans swapped and made first round .....the bad trans had been bad for a while and I lifted at the 1000' cone and was still 10 numbers fast . Worst reaction time of the weekend was .027 even after the trans swap I was .019 . Ill post the pics coming up I know there are 3 or 4 of you that are following .
