removed gauge cluster, had to cut oil pressure connection

so how screwed am i? this wasnt a wire... it was some sort of metal tube or something. where can i get a replacement? will one come with a new guage cluster when i buy it?

(unfortunatly, it wouldnt come loose, and the torque was just bending the guage housing anyway, so i jsut snipped it off)

More than likely it was a copper tube. You can buy that stuff at a local hardware store or buy it as a kit upgrade for your new gauge.Your new gauge probably will not come with the tube. You will have to solder it together. Not hard at all.Just make sure it dont leak afterwards or you will have a big mess in the cab

It should be a mechanical oil pressure gauge copper tube kit if you are goin to buy it at a parts store or out of a catalog

Re: removed guage cluster, had to cut oil pressure connection

All you need are a couple of high pressure fittings to reconnect your tubing to your oil gauge. I usualy buy mine from a Mack Truck dealer as you can just put togrther what you need. You can probabaly get a new fitting for the back of your gauge as well. Cheap! There is usually more copper tubing then the required length needed to hook up your gauge. Pull a bit through your fire wall and bobs your uncle.

esll.

Re: removed guage cluster, had to cut oil pressure connection

Buy brass fitting at the local hardware store and reinstall. Nothing to it. I don't trust the plastic tubing you get with new gauges like the plastic tubing for a ice maker.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: removed guage cluster, had to cut oil pressure connection

I bought the copper tube at the auto parts store for mine. Worked great! I just coiled the excess in the engine compartment similer to stock. Definately stay away from the nylon stuff.

me too!

It should have one more connection behind the distributor before it passes through the firewall. Mine had a coiled one coming out of the engine then another 18" one onto that for the gauge (the one you cut).
