Crew cab creation option

While checking out CL last night I came across an ad for Suburban parts. They guy is building a crew cab and has a bunch of left over Suburban parts. The only pic in the ad was of his crew cab project.

He has a great idea for building one that will make doing the low roof conversion much easier. Looks like he cut the truck cab in half and grafted the suburban center door pillar section into the middle. All that is left to do for the low roof conversion is the simple single direction curved area in the middle. Should be relatively easy to make compared to the pie cut, bend & blend job needed to make the Suburban front corners and roof skin match the truck roof profile.

You could even bead roll an inner roof skin filler panel with features to match the truck to take care of the headliner issue.

I need to call this guy and see if I can come take a look at what he is doing. I'll see if he is a member of the board and try to get him here if not.

It looks like a good way of doing the conversion as it would keep the truck VIN numbers even for 72's and not cause weird registration issues in states like mine that license SUV's as cars.

Thanks, glad he is on here. I will have to look him up. We live in the same area of town.
