Not sure what your looking for.... $5k seems high. you could fly in and drive this one home and save a bunch of cash.

Its worthy to be built being a BB truck w/air & wood bed.
To me price is almost double what it should be.

Re: Might have found a truck..good value?

depends what you need, what you are good at, and what you want to finish with, I found mine in DFW for 400, only needed a single wire to start it up, and some panels, got some rust, but cheaply fixed, depends where you want to spend your money, 5k is a nice set of wheels, a 5.3l and some goodies from PB as far as im concerned....

Unless your heart is in this one I would keep looking for sure... I looked at trucks on and off for the last 3 years before I got one. Just me.

Re: Might have found a truck..good value?

Thanks for the input....just what I needed to hear.

Really want a solid truck with air. A cst would be nice. Long or short. Big block even better. Seems like the nice ones are $8500 and no air. There is a nice CST on here for sale but too far away. Not buying again without seeing in person first....been there....ebay.

Re: Might have found a truck..good value?

I have to agree with the others....you're in texas...there are good areas to buy where the trucks have little rust...others you have to be careful (well...you always have to be careful ) But for a longbed even w/ a big block 5K is steep in this economy...

I've been looking in CA and AZ and there are rust free longbeds for 2K that look better. I have seen ones in TX for similar prices for longbeds....now if it was a shortbed for 5K that was rust free....it'd be reasonable...but from the pictures I'd say that's a $2-3K truck max ***in today's econony***

I'll add that the truck has been listed on Craigslist for months for about the same price.

Good luck with what ever you decide!

Re: Might have found a truck..good value?

I could see some one trying to get $5000 around here(rustbelt) for that truck, hell I know i over paid for mine, but I would think you could find another rust free and better deal down there.

Re: Might have found a truck..good value?

It'd be a nice build b/c of the options, but I also think 5k a too much.

I've seen it listed for $6500

Re: Might have found a truck..good value?

You're in Tx.If I were stil there,I would start watching small town auctions and sales.Sometimes the best trucks are the ones you least expect.A farm truck is gonna be rough but the guy at the barber shop got to work somehow. So did the butcher, grocery manager and police cheif.Maybe one of them drove a 67-72.....Just what I would look for.

Re: Might have found a truck..good value?

I know where there is a 69, lwb, body pretty rough, small block, but one original owner for $400.00, I know where there is a 68, 6 cyl ,3 on the tree, not too bad of shape, normal rust spots for $1000.00, and then of course the swb '72 I told you about for 2K, I know where there is a 72 lwb GMC, that supposedly has an ls1 in it for $1500.00, and I know where there is a 69, 3 door suburban with an LS1 and a 700r for $1800.00 that is pretty darn good shape
