Horn Install help-plz

Hey guys, I've done a search on a horn install on my 84 and got a few threds that gave ok install instructions but nothing that clearly shows how to do the factory horn install. I'm curious how the wiring go's from the dash to the horns and power.

I currently have nothing at the moment and need to install one correctly.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!

an important part of installing horns is to know that wrer they mount to the rad support is the ground connection so cleaning is advisable

Is the copper plug the connection "button" switch to the horn? If everything else is connected in my dash correctly should the horn work? Thanks

Yo! Yes.
That copper cylinder rides on the back of part of the steering wheel, and the horn button tilts to short against it when you push on the horn. You've also pictured the plug I spoke of previously (that resides at the bottom of the steering column). It slides into place using the groves at either end of the plastic plug pictured.
Todd.

Yo! Check out the Bellville spring in my old thread (pic number 9 down):
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...00#post3225400
It contacts the copper cylinder and is insulated from the horn button metal. The horn button rocks slightly to short the Bellville spring to ground when you push the horn.

Re: Horn Install help-plz

this is the complete wiring for an 84 chevy c10 with a 350 you need to print the pages off and them set them together.
like this. they are numbered part 1 pg 1 or part 2 pg 1 and so on. its only a two part diagram but with about 4 pages to one and 7 to the other. hope this isntr confusing but it is the entire harness.
