Blacked out bumpers?

Opinions? I think I like it better, the bumper matches the wheels. I have a black back bumper too but need to pick up the brackets still. I am a chrome lover but I think with the 4x4, it's cool to go for the utility look. Which do you perfer on my truck?

Re: Blacked out bumpers?

your truck looks good either way !!! but ... my opinion is to black out everything behind the grill and then do the black bumpers. seeing the core support painted another color besides black is just a pet pieve of mine. the orange/black thing works ! but just about any other color would look better with chrome bumpers. but nice truck dude !!!

I agree. I like black out bumpers but all the other chrome pieces like the grill need to be blacked out too.

The gloss black looks good. How about flat black?

Re: Blacked out bumpers?

I prefer the chrome personally.
More functional since it won't get scratched up when off roading, and it gets rid of the holloween look that I always think of whenever I see anything in black and orange.
White would give it an 'old time' factory vibe and still be cheaper than chrome.

Re: Blacked out bumpers?

Here is my black bumper. Sprayed with GatorHyde bed coating.

I went with this as the bumpers were bent and chrome peeling and I didnt want to buy new ones right now, and a friend works for GatorHyde so I get things done for free.

Works for me, and dont have to worry about any scratching or polishing.

No, same truck but I was the buyer not the seller.

Thanks for the insight folks, I agree with those who said that I need more black behind the grille. That jumps out at me too, I do like the black better. I sold the chrome one on cl yesterday and that should pay for the cost of the rear bumper brackets. I wanted to do the factory 67 round side mirrors when I get the front clip back to the original 67, now I am thinking same mirrors but black.

Thanks again for the input!

Re: Blacked out bumpers?

Personally I like the chrome. I think the black would look better if you did a little painting on the grille shell, orange under the grille and black bevels.
