Dually 49

Ok so I'm trying to make a 2wd dually out of my 3600 ..
I have a 3800 dually cab n chassis .But I want a more modern ride .
Anyone use a 88 to 98 or newer c3500 dually frame or what would be the best way to go .
I want it low but not slammed I also have a 5.3 w od tranny to run .

The track width of a C30 will be wide under that body. Sheet metal from a medium duty might cover better. Might consider a way to make original front end ride better. I can't think of any independent front suspension that is narrower that is 8-lug to use the spacers and Budd-type wheels

I used to have a 92 3500, and I can tell you that the frame gets really wide just to the rear of the cowl area. It's almost directly under the doors. No way you could sit a 49 cab on it except just sitting on top of that frame.

Re: Dually 49

So I found a 1972 dually .
I do body work and mech. I'm just trying to find a frame that could work without having to redo the whole frame.
Making the fenders wider are no problem .

Re: Dually 49

You will have to widen the fenders for sure. Figure guys are swapping that body onto S10 chassis because they are such a good match.

Re: Dually 49

it should work with the 72 chassis. Measurements can be found here https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

On the other hand this truck sits on a 90 something or later dualie chassis and runs a Duramax. He has an album on the truck on FB.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
