Floor Shifter reverse light switch

Has anyone done this before that can give me some insight and some ideas as to how to go about this?

I have a Saginaw 3 speed trans that has been converted to floor so I need to find a way to wire up a backup light switch. I have a new American Autowire harness ready to install after paint and want to know before I get knee deep in this what exactly it is I need to do.

Thanks.

Do you still have the 3ott column?
If so just slide it into reverse and see if the back up lights work.
The switch is on the bottom of the column inside by the firewall.

OK, but do you have the 3ott column?
The switch will still be there.

I imagine whoever made the floor shifter offers a switch. If not, try Hurst's web site.

I would wire up a toggle switch , on/off when you need it

Re: Floor Shifter reverse light switch

easiest way to hook it up to work automatically would be to find shift cover off of a trans with a back up switch. Drain the trans , switch covers, refill with oil, and extend the wiring.
