"72 Longhorn questions, 2 of 3 postings

Questions here addresses the "stake pocket holes". The info I rec'd from the GM Canada package show the distance between holes, starting from the tail gate the distance from the 1st to the 2nd hole is 41 1/4" same as mine, from the 2nd hole to the 3rd spec shows 52" mine measures 58 1/2", the GM spec does show 98" and 104" length boxes have the 52" measurement.
Another item that makes me believe that the box has been changed, now thinking it's been a custom stretched, added 6" to box length , wood floor and metal strips are not OEM, as built spec shows model CE20934 and spec shows that box to be 98", mine measures 104".
The more I look at this the more it looks like this trk was put together, makes me wonder if cab has been changed, perhaps even items from stolen trks, yet serial number plate on door jam shows correct and doesn’t appear to have been removed, rivets look original.
Back in the '60's I heard of guys working at the Ford Oakville Ontario plant and would have their vehicle ordered options upgraded by there fellow union brothers on the line, perhaps this might be the case however at the GM Plant in Oshawa Ontario as that's were this trk was built

The Longhorn 8 1/2' bed was achieved by adding the extension to a regular bed, so the spacing for the stake holes are the same for all longbeds and Longhorns.

Your front stake hole is about 6" forward of where it should be.

Pretty sure the stake pockets are the same, just set back by the distance of the front bed extension. So the rest should be the same as a regular bed.
