What a great day spent working on my truck. I changed the headlights to halogens, fixed that battery so that it was secure, and replaced a throttle spring. I also filled the radiator with about a half gallon of antifreeze going in. I had some left over from "winterizing" a few cats that would not stay out of my garage and off of my stuff.

I have a real good mechanic, I have watched his children grow up, and I have paid him a good sum of money over the years. I don't want him near this truck, I like working on it myself. It sure is relaxing. It looks like I may be wanting to buy some headlight bezels later on.

I even got my wife to ride in it to the park today, to let my son play for a while. She hates it, but that is one of the reasons that I like it more. She calls it "the lemon". She does not understand that I spend money on it because I want to, not because I have to. I do like my old truck, and like all of my blessings, I thank the good Lord for it.

Anybody else working on their trucks today? - Ted

got some work done to mine yesterday, finished lifting the front and started putting on u-bolts.. fixed the clutch linkage today and worked on the u-bolts some more.. it may go on its first 1 mile run tomarow!!

i piddled around today on mine i got the gas tank mounted now just have to find a filler neck ans hose then its done suppose to be nice here all week and i work nights so when i get home in the mornin i got a few hrs to kill got my hood on yesterday gonna start on my interior next..Steve

picked up a power steering box and auto trans steering column out of a 69, and got a good gas tank and back window to trade.
Any body need 'em?
i still need a power steering pump, brackets and pulley.
Any you Ohio guys need this stuff?

i put in a solid 9 hours today with my dad, we did all the brake lines, fuel line, cleaned up where the frame was shortened and painted that, moved the rear cab mounts back 12" , stuck the auto trans xmember in, cleaned up and painted the motor mounts and dropped the 327/th400 in and bolted that all down, oh and also drilled some holes in the frame and bolted the front sway bar up...im beat now and tomorrow we wanna get the blazer tank in...thats the plan anyways

Thanks to mother nature, nope too wet today....But I guess it was all for the better. Cleared out a big HoneyDo list. Like was said, there is always tomorrow.

I worked on fitting a radiator in. I ordered a new one for a '71 with a BB 'cuz that's the closest listing my local parts store had for these PU's. Anyway with just a little metal work on the support its going to work fine in my '67. Should have plenty of cooling capacity for the 454 I'm going to run. Four row core and about 33" long by 18" high.

Cleaned and adjusted the brakes, then it started raining.
BTW, I figured you were just kidding about the antifreeze & cats.... but I had a cat (se was like 12-13 yrs old) that had to be put down because of kidney failure, and the vet said it was probably from drinking antifreeze.. so even if you guys don't like cats, don't leave open antifreeze around, it wouldn't be good to kill them because they get in your garage now and then.

ok after i replied i wasnt satisfied with my work list, just got in from finishing bolting up a brake line and test fitting the front driveshaft for header clearance

Wow! your box looks almost like mine. Orange paint, grey primer and all!!!!......I didn't get to work on mine today.....I had to work on a blisterpak machine at work all day. To danged cold to work on trucks today anyhow.

Pretty nippy here too, but tomorrows going to start warming up, I think spring is here, the fun begins, did get my sway bar on the other day though, hope everybody has a great summer. happy tinkering

i went out and fixed the set in mine today and ended up sitting in the drive making vroom noises in it with my son.

even though it runs and drives i still like to do that as a part of my child hood that i wont let die

Got in mine sat A.M. and it wouldn't start so I spent the day pulling and cleaning the starter and related cabling. Since my back-up alarm wasn't working I redid the wiring on it and lubed the linkages for the shifter and clutch.Then I went for a cruise and came home to sit around in my underwear and not smoke cigars but I did smoke a cig or 2 and munch on chocolate in between.
BTW my wife won't ride in mine either but she likes for me to go work on it so I'm out of her hair.

Cats.I had some strays that wouldnt stay out of my shed,and theyd piss on everything,bring in their mice and birds and leave the carcass.for some reason they dont visit anymore

this town is plagged with strays,they go in the dumpster in the alley,they sh!t in the sand in the little cactus garden my wife planted,heck this winted i got to mutilate one that was under the hood of my truck,it screamed like crazy,i thought something was wrong with my truck,i reved it up to listen and it got louder so i shut her down,popped the hood,there was a deformed cat,it was mostly intact disfigured and dead,no tail.worst part is i had to pull it out of my inner fenderwell area,and i felt kind of bad tossing it on the ground,but i wasnt gonna put it in the back of my truck and take it to work.As far as working on my truck i need to,i need to get it ready to put on ebay.clean it up a little,throw on some new tires,pull the tach,tilt and buckets and send it down the road.

Well..... My trailing arm and panhard bushings came in earlier this week. I went and picked up a b&m street & strip shift kit Friday evening. I haven't gotten around to putting anything on the truck yet though. I'll be ordering a 1406 edelbrock carb, new cam & lifters, timing chain, and felpro gasket kit this week. I probably won't get around to installing everything until next weekend. I just can't wait until I get the vortec's bolted on!!!
