Lets See Your Diehard Daily Drivers!

I've owned 1978 & 79 Z28s, 1970, 72 & 92 mustangs, 1980, 81, 86 & 02 street bikes, 1974, 79 & 86 4x4s, 1991, 99, 08 family cars, 1981 280ZX & 1991 300ZX, I've even owned a 1969 Javelin 401 but my favorite of all time is this 1973 Chevy C20 Custom Deluxe 454/T400! Yeah it's got it's problems but it drives straight, does 70 mph on the freeway and has never left me stranded! I love popping my hood and seeing peoples reactions when they expected to see a small block!

Re: Lets See Your Diehard Daily Drivers!

The black one is DOA -- two holes in the bottom of the oil pan. The crew, the blue C20, and the grey and black K20 are part-time duty. The grey 86 with orange bumper is my full-time and the light gray in the snow is also is full-time daily driver. Just rigged it up about a month ago. Neighbour gave it to me---needed a clutch and transmission (a833). Got a tranny from the neighbour and new clutch and lifted it and 35's. It's a 6.2 diesel, very happy with fuel mileage so far. They're not pretty but they get the job done and I have FUN driving them.

Re: Lets See Your Diehard Daily Drivers!

3 years ago I imported a beautiful 76 Camaro LT-she was so nice I never took her out in the rain.Only did 500 miles in her last year so sold her a few months back & imported my new love from Mississippi to the UK. We've bonded very quickly.... Working for her living today in the pouring rain helping us move house (why do we need all that garden clutter!)

Mine daily driven for four years now. It's only had one winter off duty with me but she's gone from stock hieght and a 305 too a lowered corner carving 377 powered machine. All the changes done so it could be driven the next day or week. It's my only vehicle and the only vehicle I've known to be able to take a beating day in and day out

You can set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill,
and I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe de Ville.

You'd want your truck buried? I'd want it to go on to someone else who would appreciate it as much as I did. Like a son or close relative or even just someone who loves these old trucks.

Coming up on a month of daily duty without a single issue. Not quite die hard but she hasn't given me a reason to replace her and I don't plan to!

Re: Lets See Your Diehard Daily Drivers!

1990 Volvo 960 3.0L 4 speed aut, sedan closing to 500.000miles Never left me stranded or not started for the almost 2 year i have owned it. I drove it for work every when i worked 100miles away and back all week for 1½ year. (now i work a mile away frome home) but i drove close to 100.000miles in that yearnhalf. coast me a headgasket, 2 inner tierods, 2 set of brake pads and transmission mount. so that pretty good ( change oil every 5000miles and tranny get flushed every 15000miles and Cam belt at the same time. earlyer this year i jackknifed with a car trailer with it and it drove home. next week im going to fix the body damange and have it resparyed. My plan is too keep this old girl for next 10 years and pass the million mile mark in it. before i retrie it from dayli driving duty. I love my volvo.

A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

I've been daily driving my 84' lately. I swapped a TBI 305 in with an 700R4.

It's always nice when you can have a separate work truck!
