64 radio options?

Holy cow the after market ones are $$$

I've checked ebay, CL... Anyone know of any cheaper ones that'll fit in the factory location? Even if someone on here has an old one that works or doesn't work, I just need something to fill the holes with

I have one for sale on the for sale forum. I just brought it up to the top of the list.

I'm going the retro custom route with a 70's vintage Kraco AM/FM/8-track, along with some modern speakers and some funky nerdishness to enable Bluetooth and hands free telephony. Fraction of the cost of a period correct factory option or one of those retro moderns setups, with the same functionality.

If you're just looking for something to fill the hole:

Re: 64 radio options?

I've seen and purchased factory radio delete plates on E-bay for around 30 bucks.

I've got one of those in my truck, but if I sold it then I would have to fill the hole.

The Kraco 8-track looks better than I thought it would. And all things considered it doesn't sound bad. I don't know how they lived without fast forward, reverse and a few other modern niceties with these 70's aftermarket radios.

Wow. I though 8 tracks were already obsolete by time that album came out (1979) but it turns out that they were discontinued in 1983.
