Do i need a small c-notch?

I've got 4" clearance to the frame. Obviously no weight on it yet...

Its a 51 chevy with tci 4" dropped leaf rear kit +3" of wood blocks

That will probably go to somewhere between two and three when you get weight on it.
I think I would put one of the traditional half pipe notches in the frame just in case. I don't think you need a big notch though.

Organic lowering blocks?

Just my 2 cents, by the time you get weight on it i don't think you'll need the lowering block.. i would put a small notch in the frame say about 1/2 way and start off without any blocks and see how it sits... you might be surprised how low it will set...I've put a few of these on and didn't have to use any blocks..

If it was me I would turn it back over and take all your body panels and some extra weight, and throw it on top of it. that would tell me if it is going to hit.

Re: Do i need a small c-notch?

Thanks for the help guys. Was hoping i could finish the back half and paint from under the cab back before starting on the front suspension. That way i wouldnt have to replace/remove the cab and bed 6 times. Oh well, probably best to mock it up one more time anyways and tear it back down for paint later.
