Alternator swap...not GM

I will probably get crap for this, but I have done SEVERAL of these alternator swaps and am VERY impressed.
I am using a Ford 3G alternator from a mid 90's Taurus. It's called a 3g. It puts out 95a @ idle! It's rated for 130a max. The wiring is very easy. It's internally cooled and internally regulated. I am also installing a ford starter solenoid. Here are some pics and diagrams.

Re: Alternator swap...not GM

I went with a 140 amp GM alternator from a place called (Quick Start, I think) and also had a Ford solenoid setup installed. I was trying to overcome the "heat soak" hard start when hot condition in my 83 C20 big block. Seems to have helped.

Wow, I thought this would get more attention. I guess I will have to do a write up.

Crossbreeding electrical systems can work when you're limited to parts on hand. I used a Hitiachi from a wrecked `84 Subaru on my 1981 Rabbit Diesel.

The Delco AD230 and AD244 from the 90s GM trucks are another good option to boost your amps.
