Red face Block drain ?

Hello all
I did search but came up with just stuff for the V8s
Stupid ? of the day
Does a 292 have a block drain ? I need to replace the waterpump gasket (again) and would like to drain the block to make alot less mess and use the antifreeze since its under a month old.
Pulling the lower hose really didnt help with the mess as the hose fitting in the waterpump is still way higher then bottom of the pump housing.

Thanks all
Todd

Re: Block drain ?

Do you not have a petcock at the bottom of the radiator?

Re: Block drain ?

It should have a drain plug but keep in mind it's been on for years and very hot so may not come loose

Re: Block drain ?

Thanks , found it under all the crud covering the motor , little harder to find in the P10 , nothing like the pickups where you can climb in and close the hood

Had to drain it again as the heater core (at least I had bought it and sitting on the shelf knowing it would happen sooner) took a dump , well that finished off the cooling system I replaced everything. Radiator, waterpump, upper/lower hoses heater core and lines.
Now on to the next item on the list .
