I once had a chance to buy a 70K original mile, 2-owner 1974 C30 reg. cab pickup with the teepee Camper Special trim designating 1.25-ton rated with 12 leafs showing out back! Had NO rust anywhere, was burnt orange w/white for paint lsightly faded and brown bucket seat interior with power windows and locks. The door panel trim, instrument cluster trim ,etc. was like NOS and the dash was pristine-no damage anywhere, even the factory console was like new! Truck had the 454 with a TH400 and 4.10 rear gears-asking price was $3800. I just couldn't pull the trigger on it at the time-I just opened my shop and was building several gbodies and I had a few trucks on the back burner just for me and thought about this one-then I passed on it. I kick myself every time I think about it still-at least I know where the truck literally just sits though....I see it several times a year and it just sits outside and never moves...wtf?

I was lined up to buy a 1977 GMC Indy Hauler stepside with a 454 turbo 400. It was 5k and across the country. The seller sorta flaked out right about the time I was making reservations for a plane ticket. I decided to cancel the whole deal and he contacted me a bunch of times a little later trying to make the deal go through. In hindsight I'm glad I didn't end up with that truck. As cool as I think the collectible trucks are, I'm much more into trucks I can drive at this point...

As much as a dislike that front end that truck pulls it off quite nicely but is it a picture trick or is the front window tinted

The single cab, single wheel 70s 1-ton 4x4 that was for sale down the road half a mile. Never did stop to see the price, but it was only there for 5 days before selling. Real clean 2-tone truck.

sounds just like my 75 just has 80k miles and non power window/locks but same motor trans and gears mine even has buckets with factory center console, but i only paid $350 for mine

there was a burnt orange early 80s model for sale up at a lot near my house. it was lowered, clean, and listed @ 4k. near every time i see my pile i wonder if i shoulda just bought that one and scrapped mine.

I think its just the crummy cell pic. I agree...I prefer factory grills.

Pre '75 Pre-runner Subbie out in the IE last year. It had engine setback with a long travel suspension, full cage all the way back, Beard seats and license plates...

The engine setback was really cool. It used a van engine cover in the cab. Wish I'd snapped that one up!
