Worked on top portion of seat finished, still need the bottom seat frame to go to the blaster and maybe powder coat.

My skinnie rear wheels and tires came in. Should get my axle back from Sid's this week and be ready to start working on her again.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Found some time today to work on making a 4" bigger than stock C notch for my 51 C4 build. Hockey with the boys and hunting is taking up a good chunk of time.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Just starting on my build.
Since I don't have patch panels for the cab yet, I decided to work on the rear bed panel. Lots of hammering to make it somewhat straight and welded some tears in the metal. 1 corner of 1 side was completely gone so I trimmed it and made a patch panel.
When assembling the bed, are there supposed to be spacers to keep from crushing this area?

Maybe you oughta! Looks pretty good to me.

Hi Rudy, I notice your location now says Glendale, AZ. You're out there permanently now? I know you said you were moving but are you permanently gone from the desert here?

The seat looks great. Did I miss it? Whose cover is that or did you sew it yourself? And the embroidery, if you bought this who offers that?

I was gonna comment on your mentioning powder coating the bottom frame. Why the expense? It's not like it'll ever be touched much. I'd paint it myself, maybe even rattle can it. No one but you will EVER see it. I know, heresy to some but on my budget I'll save the powdercoating for something that'll be seen and need the scratch protection. Merry Christmas, Rudy!

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Yes Dan, I got rid of the house in the high desert and I retired for good last January still had my home in Arizona.
I bought the cover at Pomona Swap meet. The guy that sells them will embroider what ever you want at no extra charge. His prices went up to $200 his shop is in Apple Valley CA sorry I didn't keep any of the info.

I powder coated at local shop owned by a friend for cheap around $40, just me helps to prevent rust.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Talked to my insurance agent and now that it is more truck than a pile of parts homeowners property will not cover it so I added it back on the policy then suspended the liability, keeping comp with fire and theft. Will add $4.19 every six months to my premium.

Yeah, looks like it matches pretty well. Does it look that close in real life? Good job.

When it was wet it looks exactly like the picture... The shine isn't as deep when it dries...... I'm planning on putting 2 or 3 coats of clear on it tomorrow to get that deep shine. I'm already thinking of re-covering the seat .... Not sure yet , but possibly a two tone of blue and white or blue and brown
