Front Suspension Drop Issues

I dropped my C10 in the front with a combination of springs and 2 1/2" spindles. Not 100% sure of the spring drop height. It has 15x8's in the front, and I had to trim the lower control arms in the front and rear to allow anything close to full-steer without the wheels rubbing on the arms.

Has anyone else run into this, and if so... what was your fix? I bottomed the arms out going through a huge dip in the road and lets just say the few hours of trimming the lower arms has gone to waste.

Anything helps... tubular arms? and where is a good place to find some?

Re: Front Suspension Drop Issues

I have alway's assumed that 17" wheels were required for anything involving a spindle drop.

Atleast that's what I learned working on late model pickups.

Re: Front Suspension Drop Issues

austinstocker,...
do you have any pics of your set up?
Trimming the lower control arms is normal with a 15" wheel that has more than 3.5" of backspace,... like a truck ralley wheel (it has 4" of backspace).
Show us what you're dealing with.

Re: Front Suspension Drop Issues

I do have rallies on it, but they are camaro/corvette style rallies. I'd have to take some pictures later tonight if its still light out. I know i will need to trim the arms, but i was also looking for an alternative, as in tubular arms or something.

I like the look of the rallies on it, but I am not 100% sure of what my final wheel and tire combination will be.
