Getting ready to buy valve covers for my 406. Can you guys post up some pics of your valve covers that are billet, painted, chrome, powdercoated or air brushed. I would like something different. Thanks in advance,

Re: Ideas for valve covers

GMPP competition valve covers on my 406. They are pricey but they do look good.

Re: Ideas for valve covers

I have some edelbrock old school finned covers that I'm getting ready to put on. I'm going to take the old stamped ones and paint them. Maybe like the plaid V-6 covers, maybe a pattern of something else (skull and crossbones?). Something waaaaay out there.

Re: Ideas for valve covers

^^Those are something new,I like!

I have a hard time now that I`m doing GMCs.I think no name stuff looks best anyway.I have a pair I wonder if are still made by GMPP.The steel ones with "bowtie" icon and "power".You saw them in chrome.I bought a pair in paintable.I think those would look cool.

Here's what I've got.

They used to look like this.

I also used to have these, which I liked, but went with a different theme with what I have now.

Re: Ideas for valve covers

I made a set out of 2-piece covers for my wife's old '68. And I will be making another set when we start her next '68. They got plenty of ooohs & aaahs.

Re: Ideas for valve covers

Well, we didn't get to put too many miles on it, then had to sell it. But the oil would drip right off of them after it sat for a bit. Looked just like in the pic.

Bought these about 10 years ago from GMPP, still have to finish buffing them out

My favorites are the steel VC with flames, somebody on the forum did a real nice job with his
