Attching emblems?

I have 2 nice "Custom" badges that get placed on the rear pillar of the cab. While I'm not ready to put them on until I get the trucks proper trim package, I can't figure how they would attach.

On the back of the badges are 2 post and I will assume they fit into a holes and some sort of clips. I will have to drill the holes (no problem) but anybody have an idea what type of clips I would use or need? If you need pic I'll post later.

If it is what I am thinking of, you use self threading nuts. They are thin stamped nuts and cut threads as you tighten them. Can't remember the proper name to save me. Hope this helps.

Those speed nuts will work if you can get to the back side, but there isn't access to the back side of the B pillar. What I'm thinking of, and I don't remember what they're called, are some round cone shaped things that have little barbs on the inside. You just drill the proper size hole, snap these into the sheet metal and then snap the emblem into them. They are made by Au veeco (sp?)

as far as I know they are called barrel clips.
if you can't find a source for them , they might be available in the right size from a place like danchuck.
567 chevy cars used these type of clips to hold the "chevrolet" or "belair" emblems on the side.

They are similar clips to the Throttle control, Tubular spring loaded, that slide into the holes then you slip the GMC Custom badges into them.

I guess this isn't what jbgroby needs, but for future use, they're called Pal Nuts and my local NAPA store carries them in various sizes.

if you want to just glue them on use winshield glue they wont go anywhere

I would think that would mess the paint up IF they did fall off, Heck I got mirrows that won't hold on withthat stuff. I'll figure something out. I could probally use that adheasive they now use for plastic molding on vehicles, at least I could clean it off with goof-off if it becomes a problem?

I use it everyday for emblems mouldings and whatnot that stuff will attach anything. I think you are talking about the stuff that mounts rearview mirrors? I am talking about the thick polly that they use to install the windshield. it is used with a caulk gun.

Those fasteners should be available through either the Help or Dorman sections at your local parts store. If not the exact ones, you could probably find something that works. Hopefully you have a parts store with people who at least have an idea of what they are doing, and a "can do" attitude.
