That's probably pretty close. If you don't get detonation during acceleration, or backfire during decceleration, I'd leave it alone.

ok it was at 5 degrees. i bumped it up to 8 to see if there was any difference. under heavy acceleration is started doing that little pop sput noise/hesitation it was doing before except alot more(i guess detonation?) it was doing it a little bit before when it was at 5 so now i turned it down to 4. ill give it a test drive tonight and see if its stopped

i'm not real sure where mine's at now, it started at 8btdc, then I drove it and it pinged alot, so I retarded it 'till it stopped pinging and still started nice, so, i guess there's your answer, time it till it works good.

You didn't say if you are running with vacume or not. If you set it you need to plug the vacuum off, and if not running vacuum you need to unplug the pig tail coming out of the distributer, before you set the timing. Set it at 6 to 8 degree's btdc. After you set it then either plug up the vacuum or the pig tail back and then you have the correct timing.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

i set it with the vacuum disconnected from the dist. i plugged it up.

it was making a loud poping/sputter noise under full throttle and would hesitate for split second when it did this.

was doing it a very little bit before i started (5 degrees) then i bumped it up to 8 and it did it alot more, so ive moved it down to 4, hopefully thatll stop the noise a little more since it was at 5 before.
