burb sneak peak...
I've been getting nasty grams sent to my phone threatening bodily harm if I didn't post some updates....
The front needs to come down more. I'll probably roll with it like this and see if it settles at all, and see how bad it is at this height. If I do decide to run it like this.. as in for good, I'll need to notch the rear frame rails. I'll see what I think. The sheet metal is only hangin on there by a dozen bolts. I went out to work on it the other night and EVERYTHING I tried doing, it fought back, so I just hung the metal on there for sh!ts and giggles mostly. The 2 fenders aren't as nice as I had though, and I'll probably end up replacing them... but then that gives me 2 spare fenders that are 1000000 times better than the crap hanging off the front of the longhorn. So both trucks get better fenders than whats bolted to them now. Sweet. The engine seems to run GREAT. I turned on the A/C (never had a belt on there) and was shocked to see it actually kicked on!!! So I may actually end up with working A/C... that would be AWESOME! I do still need to finish up the front body harness... it's just hanging in there right now, I'll sort it and tie it up once the fenders are all installed properly. Well, that's all for now. I will probably be resizing the eleventy billion photos I have tonight...and might even start updating my build thread! (have my son this weekend, not working on it) |

Looks like a great project. It's good you started with the most important things first ( motor ).

it took 14 hrs, and a PNW member to say it!!!!
I was wondering how long till someone mentioned brad's truck! Thanks guys. I started resizing pics for the build thread, and then updated it a tick before falling asleep last night. |

Ya gotta love that red door!!
The 'burb is lookin' good Andy! Hey, I just noticed the wheels and remember that cool 'wheel mod' thread you did several months back. I just did the exact same thing this past week and have the same wheels as you now. (except mine are 6-lug. I took the Corvette ralleys off and put them on my '68.)

Re: burb sneak peak...
this summer has been real mild, I think it's been over 90 maybe 4 days. Heck, i don't think it's been over 85 in 2 or 3 weeks. But usually it does get pretty nasty here in the dog days of summer.
It'd be pretty sweet having factory A/C blowin in my face and the stock rear a/c blowin on the back of my shaved noggin. |
