Exclamation 1954 tilt steering column ideas ---> NEED PICS<---

Hey all,

I am searching for a factory (prefer the aesthetics and don’t want the “custom” look) column shift steering column for my 1954 Chevy 3100. I hear a lot of guys using a 32” column and have heard some using a 30”, so I am not sure of the length I need or would want. I like the love of the early 70’s Chevrolet truck tilt units, but I have seen those in AD setups and they are a bit too long for my liking.

I hope to couple the column with a 60s wooden Chevy three spoke style unit or an early 60s Impala style wheel. I will have power steering so I won’t need a wheel the size of the Impala unit.

Let me know what has worked for you and I LOVE to see pictures I am sure there are a zillion threads on this topic, but they are difficult to find in one thread since the search engine searches the whole site, not just the 1947-1959 section. If you find a link to a thread, I will take that too!

Thanks,

Ben
