Switching back to AC Delco R44T plugs. I guess I shouldn't be surprised they are made in China.

They used to be made in the Mt Morris, Michigan, but NAFTA and numerous other “Trade Treaties” changed all that.

It is what it is.
The new AC DELCO Master Brake Cylinder I recently bought is made in China.
Crossing my fingers on quality and function.
Nothing new that we haven’t discussed here before on this subject.
Sadly, products across the spectrum are sold, distributed and supported here in the USA, but manufactured overseas.

I have bought scores of good USA made NOS AC spark plugs from EBAY. There seems to be a good supply of them still out there, and if stored properly will last centuries.

Here are some good R44T plugs:

I've been real happy with 'hecho in japon' NGK YR5 in my tired, Delco-fouling 350. I haven't had to pull a plug since I installed them.

When they first left Michigan, they went to Mexico. I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the Mexican build, so I dropped the AC brand, as it had lost its meaning. I guess Corporate found they could get the plugs made better and cheaper in China. At least cheaper.

I always call NGK the "No Good Kind".

In my R/C stadium truck, I use NGK plugs and it seems to like them. I run Champions in my Kohler small engines in my vintage Cub Cadets, and NOS green ribbed AC plugs in my older GM vehicles.

Honestly, it's not a bad idea! It might be the way to go down the road.
I'm running AC Delco's I ordered through Summit. They've been good so far, but haven't put many miles on them.

Got the aftermarket AC R44Ts installed. No blood spilled which is unusual for me. Factory air and the back 2 are the knuckle busters. Fire it up tomorrow. Raining.

To me, that Denso W16EPR-U in your picture looks way to long, but best I could find, it does cross reference to the AC R44XL which is the correct plug for the inline six with gasketed seat.

I think I did use AC R44XLs in my 292 back when they still made them.
Also ran Champion RN 11 or 12YC but I can't really remember.

I have a set of US made AC 45 plugs, but my mechanic says I don't need to go a range hotter on my 350 in the Jimmy.

Unless you have HEI. Then you will want the R45Ts.
