Hosers 68 Chevy

I've been on this forum looking around for a little bit now asked some questions and got some great info. and help. I have actually meet a few people and one of the first questions is where's your build thread. So I figure i'll give a shot.

A little back ground I've always been into these trucks my first one was a 72 when I was sixteen. Through the years I've had several for example 72 2wd blazer,70 suburban, and several trucks.

This current build actually started with a 67 stepside (which changed) that i've had for about 10 yrs if not longer that has been torn apart for probaly 9 of them. It's just been sitting due to money, family you name it just life has put it on hold. Luckly i've been able to hang on to it really do to the fact it wasn't eating anything

Anyway I've been working on it for a few months and I'll try to bring it upto date.

Re: Hosers 68 Chevy

So this is as far as i got in the process before a change comes along. I didn't have a bed the one that came with the truck got stolen out of my drive way along with the trailer it was sitting on. So I had been looking for one and I run across some parts and end up going a totally different truck.

Re: Hosers 68 Chevy

Ran across a 68 with porterbuilt front dropmemnder with c4 componets and almost enough parts for two trucks. Found it on CL and I'm pretty sure the po is a member on here.

Re: Hosers 68 Chevy

Here's what I'll be starting with after a little wash and finally getting off the trailer. Which was not easy since the frame was sitting on it and my help was kinda hard to find after what I put them through picking everything up.

Re: Hosers 68 Chevy

Bad news from my rear end guy one of the tubes was bent. Luckly I had another one just had to bust it down send it to powder coated before could send it to him.

Good news ran across a motor 6.0 LQ9 ( haven't pulled heads off yet to varify theLQ9 part yet) But came out of 03 ss pickup supposed to only have about 33,000 on it but no paper work to varify. Came with ecm, truck intake, edlebrock intake, wiring harness, and a few other small parts.

I did have a buddy tell me we can run the computer and it will tell me exactly what it is so we'll see.

You know I just hate when someone steals from a working man trying to fix up his ride. Don't let it undo anything you are trying to fix my friend and good luck and God speed.

Thumbs up Re: Hosers 68 Chevy

Been a busy past couple days hadn't worked to the truck BUT the wife said well you haven't worked on the truck you should at least order something.

So I didn't hesitate and ordered my rear disk brake set up from Justin @ Scott's Hotrods great guy to work with very helpful.
