Re: 67 gmc short 4x4 E-bay

Thanks for the link. I see power brakes to go with the a/c. I wonder if this would have power steering???? If so, that would be very rare i would think... Wish it was mine...

Re: 67 gmc short 4x4 E-bay

I would think it would be a rare bird as well. How many Chevy shortbed 4x4's are there?

The GMC production numbers were lost in a fire, I think, so no way to prove it, but that has to be a rare truck.

Its a Super Custom i think. See the chrome emblems on the fenders.

Wonder what the reserve is?

Re: 67 gmc short 4x4 E-bay

Its a 305 or greater v6 with air and power assist. Wonder what the reserve is? That would look good with a set of 68 dog dish caps on it (I know not right but the wheels need caps )

Re: 67 gmc short 4x4 E-bay

67-68 SWB 4x4 numbers were around 1,000-1,500 each year... I have an original 68, I don't think that power steering was an option on the 4WD's in those years though.

Re: 67 gmc short 4x4 E-bay

Yes its a Super Custom, the CST of the GMC truck line. The V6 is a 305, no 351's were offered in 4x4's. Ram assist PS was a 2wd 67/68 thing only. The 67/68 4x4's used a totaly different steering gear box and PS was never an option IIRC.

One neat thing about the early Super Customs is the horizontal pleating on the door panel vinyl. Chevy used vertical pleats. I wished the aftermarket would produce the correct GMC door panel vinyl.

The steering gearbox can be seen in this pic borrowed from patsfan64, the pitman arm comes off the side of the gearbox, not the underside.

I've seen the Chevy #'s before and that's about what I was thinking I remembered seeing... that would mean that it's possible only a couple or few hundred shorty 4x4 GMC's were built. I want this truck
