I dont understand what they corrected. Did they change the firing order to make the wires neater?

no, just where the wires hook up. he explains it in the last part of the video. stock has the wires going all over the place. this divides it evenly. the firing order has not been changed. just the location of the wires.

Re: ACCEL - GM HEI Corrected Distributor Cap

The beauty of these forums is alot of opinions, alot of times crappy ones so here is mine. That engine compartment is too clean. I would prefer a snake pit of wires and the regular configuration of wires GM engineers designed the engine with. That being said I do not own or plan on owning a show quality pickup so non of this is even relevant to this post, so why am I even posting this.

Why not correct those ugly wires by making a giant chrome cap that hides the wires all the way into the valve covers where they come out with more chrome caps leading from the valve covers to the plugs that have red accents to blend in those ugly parts of the chevy small block. Put more chrome covers over those and that would look trick.

Re: ACCEL - GM HEI Corrected Distributor Cap

Who wants a wiring mess like this?

96 and later Vortec engines have a corrected caps on distributors.

Some Taylor custom cut your own wires will work great!!

Re: ACCEL - GM HEI Corrected Distributor Cap

I kno what you guys mean on the big mess, I try to run and route mine as neat as possible but it just don't happen when they jump sides and wrap around crap.

I like the chrome cover idea I think corvette's had a big chrome cap you could get that covered the dist. and wires all the way to the valve covers. I saw one somewhere a long time ago. I like chrome too so I'm all for that.

As for accel I've had nothing but good luck with them. One the same motor, same plugs, same cap and rotor, using the accel super stock or whatever 8mm wires, compared to mallory cut to fits 8mm and some autozone 8mm the accels were tons better. Idle was very smooth and crisp, clean, the mallorys were ok but not as smooth on idle. The autozones suck, they work but I don't like them, they burn quickly. I have those mallory with the boot laying on a header tube and it's never burnt or melted. The accels have been thruough 3 vehicles. They were bought for my 85 monte carlo, seen above with the wire looms down the sides of the valve covers, then I got the mallory cut to fit for a cleaner look, put the accels on dad's 84 seen above when it had the blue 305 in it. Now it has the monte carlo orange 350 in his truck, and the accels on my 88 k1500 lol.

The mnonte was a driver and taken to shows, dad's treuck is a daily and no shows but it sure looks good and neat when you pop the hood to do anything and when it's clean and painted sure makes for clean work. Only thingyou get on you is dirt or road grime, not 20 years of gunky buildup. The neater and cleaner the better for me. I'd like to hide all the wires and crap for one, and daily drive it.
