Just like the thread says....ill start
Found a nice size snake under the seat when I first drove it home..about crashed the truck when i relized it was a copperhead..and the only other thing ive found was a rusty .38 colt inside my drivers door behind the panel....sometimes its best not to ask how things end up in some places

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
Not nearly as exhilarating as a snake, but I found several dozen old pull tabs from beer cans in the cab corners. I guess someone was trying to fill up the void area back there. You old timers will not think much about it. And the younger fella's might not even know what they are. I guess they're kinda like 8-tracks. LOL

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
I found a old bag of pot under the floor mat in one of my suburbans. When we stripped our 64 swb we found a home made crack pipe under the seat.

Maybe we got our trucks from the same guy. I found a half ounce (I never inhaled) under the carpet when I was putting new carpet in.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
Funny thing, I had my truck for a few months and my friend lowered the passenger sun visor down, some stuff fell out... it was already split nearly all the way across, so I just ripped it open.. There was a whole stem of pot tucked up in there. Im not pot expert but it looked pretty damn old. Haha.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
It wasn't in my truck, but when I sold my beloved 1980 Cutlass, it returned the next day with a blown engine, an empty bottle of cheap vodka, empty bag of grass, and used condom under the seat. The guy stopped payment on his check. Thats what I get for picking on the fat kid all those years ago.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
Well I found $ 20 worth of change in my 68 LWB truck and in my 68 swb stepside truck, I found a couple of wrenches and drill bits. A snake would have been more interesting though..
Now the funny thing is I just picked up a 71/72 AC Cab with no rot at all and the guy I bought it from used a tin can to fill the gas tank whole and some bondo on the outside... LOL otherwise the cab just needs the other rocker cut off since I have a pair of new ones here and a good sand blasting on the floor pan but other then that No major Rust at all.. Charlie

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
I found papers like the title from 1970, owners manual, bulbs, the card board stuff that went inside the glove box, 25 cents, some old reciepts from 1970 to the 80s for tires from sears also some battery reciepts from sears, and some oil rags that were dry rotted.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
I got a camper one time...and it had a rattle snake in it. I played Steve Irwin that day. Bought a 73 Pontiac Grandville from and old man for 100.00 to get the 455 out of it. The guy told me and my friend that he lost 500.00 in cash in that car. After we took out the motor and trans...we decided to see if we could find the 500. We found it under the carpet on the passenger side.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
I once found a swiss army knife and a zippo. The coolest was when I bought a 54 ford 2 door station wagon. The old man I bought it from said it had belonged to his moonshiner uncle. He told me that he was quite the ladies man and if the car could talk that it would tell some awesome stories.....needless to say I didn't believe him. As I was taking out the cars interior I found three women's shoes under the back seat and some copper tubing in the spare tire area....made me a believer. Even though it was a ford I thought it had some cool history.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
Lots of small roaches (the kind that were once rolled)
Traded a 70 C10 for some cash and a camper - before rebuilding the camper, I used the shop vac to take out over 1000 crack vials, at least two dozen pipe tubes, razor blades and syringes - to think, I almost tried to take it over to canada the first weekend I had it but decided to clean it up first... whew! imagine trying to tell THAT story at the border! Had just bought a 4x4 '70 jeep with snow plow - had it sitting in the yard, facing the pond - decided to move it to the back yard. Nothing on but shorts and barefoot - climbed in, hit the key, shifted into first, raised the blade and felt the dash fall on my knees - I looked down and realized it was a ball of snakes in a breeding pile - I don't remember opening the door or closing it on the way out but it was putting across the yard, headed for the pond. I raced across the yard, grabbed a broom, raced back along side the truck opened the door and pushed in the clutch with the handle, knocked it out of gear and proceeded to throw myself around the yard for 30 seconds and high stepping while trying to get away from all the snakes on the ground - Acording to my wife, it looked like I had been set on fire by an invisible witch while I was attending a snake church revival.... There had to have been 100 altogether... shudder! I forgot all the yelling that went along with the whole scene too....

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
I didn't find it.. but the MP's dogs (military police K9 unit) found a bag of weed in the cab corner of my old 69. I was standing in the post commander's office an hr later desperatly needing a clean pair of boxers.
Luckily the weed was obviously very old, and the title I had in my pocket was proof that I had owned it for a week or so. |

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
in my 49 GMC I pulled about 40 pounds worth of old clothes that had molded, a small plstic christmas tree, a cool looking old vase. a cadillac hood ornament, the origional jack assy. some old shells (.38) and who knows what all else. when I found the truck it was completely surrounded by old broken concrete, about a thousand empty beer bottles and a treehouse had fallen over and was leaning against the bed.

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
i didn't think it was so cool... but when i was driving my '70 K/10 home from NorCal, i decided to stop in salt lake for a carb adjustment and to replace the heat ducts. i bought the heat ducts, and was redoing them myself while the carb was being tuned.
...SCORE!!!! a nice flathead Craftsman screwdriver!!! i never really thought about it again, until i saw this thread... now i'm just glad it wasn't a pile of snakes!

Re: Intresting things you have found in your trucks
I found a bank bag with about $0.00 dollars in old coins worth about $150.00 and $300.00-400.00 worth of Tourquiose jewelry in a 74 Monte I bought.I paid $250.00 for the car and just wanted the engine.I sold the tranny for $75.00,the trunk lid(and only straight panel on the whole car)for $25.00 and drove it for 2 years before I did the motor swap.I came out alright on that one.
My buddy bought a really nice GTX 440 Six Pack Pistol grip shifted 4 speed car.He drove it for about 3 weeks before he got stopped. The officer was suspisious of the PO and had been trying to catch him doing something wrong. He brought in a drug dog and busted my buddy for an ounce of cocaine they found on top of the radio. The PO had been caught up in his scheming elsewhere and had the choice of Military service or jail.My buddy bought the car from his dad after he left.Cost my buddy 6 months county time and several thousand dollars, but he did finally get it cleared from his record.
