Cab messed up

I'm trying to get my truck finished, finally done but, after putting on passenger side door, the door does not fit. I had body work done by a local shop. Inner/outer rocker panels, cab corners and part of the floor. After trying to install the door, the opening for the door is around 1/2" too small. Then, I noticed the bottom of the rear glass opening has been bent inward approximately 1/2" to 3/4...so much so that, the rear glass would never fit right. I never noticed this before. Its been a year or so since I got the truck back from the place that did the work so, don't want to accuse them of something without knowing for sure. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures because I am using a tablet and can't download them. I just want to get my truck finished! Not sure exactly what I'm going to do about it

Re: Cab messed up

If you don't want to accuse them of anything, you have the same options as when you started -- replace the cab or hire someone to fix it (again).

Re: Cab messed up

I would call the shop and discuss with them what you found. Offer for them to send their rep to come and check it out. I think they would much rather have the opportunity to fix it rather than have bad customer feedback running through town!

If you do not get a resolution, pm me, I'll recommend the guy who is doing work on my truck.

Good luck!

Re: Cab messed up

If they were fitting the rockers without having the door available and test fitting before welding up everything and rechecking after welding, they didn't know what they were doing.

Re: Cab messed up

I kinda feel like a dumbazz. After a much closer look, the pass side door wouldn't shut because I installed the latch plate( dont know if thats the right name for it)upside down. I have both doors installed now. But the opening for the rear glass of course is still bent in. I don't know how it happened and never noticed it until now. It looks like the glass will not fit right to After talking to the guy yesterday and telling him what was going on, I'm going to call him again and tell him what I found. I'm still concerned about the rear glass opening though. The doors were on the cab when it was took there however, they were not on the cab when I picked it up.
