I might get a K-5
Hey yall, I was searching craigslist today and ran across an 84 K-5 blazer 4x4, says it has power windows, locks, 350 and a 700r4. and very minimal rust., 1400$
After talking to the guy I find out he is interested in square body pickups, so I tell him about my 84 GMC lwb 2wd, and he seemed pretty interested. He wants to trade. The K5 isnt quite as nice as my GMC, then again I got my GMC for VERY cheap. So, question is, should I swap him? Should I join the blazer crowd? Im not sure which way I want to go, as I would love having a 4x4 square body to make a mini monster truck out of, then again I like the 2wds also... so many choices... what to do?

Re: I might get a K-5
i only have one pic of the blazer, and it sucks. i talked to the guy on the phone and he said it is in good condition with very minimal rust, My GMC has original paint, and it needs a repaint BAD. It also has Brand new cooper cobra tires, I paid 450 for them.
In my opinion I think it is a fair trade, but I am beginning to think maybe he should throw some money in on the trade, as the blazer needs... Power steering pump, exhaust work, and a steering column. I can fix all these things for nearly free, but still, Ill be trading an excellent running and driving vehicle for one that needs work. I need opinions.

Re: I might get a K-5
well with just the info you provided, how bad do you want a 4x4? If bad enough, then a straight up trade would be the best I would do. In a real world I would do the trade and have him throw in some cash. I never recommend a good running truck in trade for one that does need work in most situations.

Re: I might get a K-5
Maybe look at it like... Would you sell your truck for $1,400? If you did, would you then use it to buy his Blazer?
Or could you post yours for sale and get maybe $1,400 -2k for it then buy his for $1,200 or? (if you wanted to chance it) Just a few ideas to think about. |

Re: I might get a K-5
I spoke to the guy on the phone, asked him what he would take CASH money for it, he said a grand! I do think having the extra room of a blazer would be pretty cool, because I currently have 3 single cab trucks, not to comfortable. If I can find someone to buy my GMC then im getting the k-5.
