Project: Thinmint. 66 Burban bagged and ls swap.

Hey guys. I have been a member of the forums for years and made a post to follow the build of my last truck (1950 5 window, bagged and LS swap). Was a great thread, and had a ton of good information. Well it got destroyed thanks to photobucket and their greed. So, now, I am starting a new build thread for my next project. Its a 1966 Suburban with a full porterbuilt extreme kit and LS swap. I got it back in April, and have been collecting parts slowly the past few months. Now that I have some progress, I decided to share. I am going to load the photos directly to the post this time around. When I got the truck back in april, it was an abandoned project. Someone had started to install the porterbuilt, never finished the mock up, then left it outside in the Virginia weather. Needless to say it rusted real nice. A few pics of when I got it.

Re: Project: Thinmint. 66 Burban bagged and ls swap.

Got the body and frame apart, and sandblasted and painted the frame. Almost have the frame ready to put the body back on.

Pics of the frame painted, the new fuel cell, and wheels. Going to be painting the wheels white to match the top, along with the center caps.

That'll be a nice Burb when done. It looks like the body is in good condition. Too bad they left it outside to rust, but nothing a good sandblasting can't take care of.

Sweet project!!! I like the color. Nothing that a bit of elbow grease cant fix.
FYI you can load pics full size from your computer, you just cant upload all 5 at once. Chose a file then click upload then chose again and upload till you get all 5. Hope that helps.

Awesome project, excited to see the build. Your 5 window is one of my all time favorite trucks, so I'm sure you'll do the 'burb justice.
