Wood Bed Mounting Options

I was wondering if there is a way to mount a 69 LWB wood bed to the frame without drilling holes through the wood and using the offset washers? Could you just bolt the crossmembers to the frame and rely on the wear strips to hold the wood to the crossmembers and not bolt through the wood at all?

Thanks

Re: Wood Bed Mounting Options

I've seen Mar K has a kit like that but I haven't used it myself.

Re: Wood Bed Mounting Options

we did this in the kids 67 in the rear cross sill theres the two mounts we made thick tear drop shaped washers welded them too the bolts an dropped them into the mount holes. basicly did the same for the front cross sill except instead of cutting tear drops they were just rectangles welded too the bolt so the bolt wont turn.i made sure the flat plats that are on the bottom of the cross sills were welded good too the cross sill because it would've been the weakest mounting point with out the bolt going through the wood.

dang i just felt like typing one long sentance
