Snap-On tools...Do you drink the Kool Aid too ?

Last night, I was looking at the Snap-On website and found out you can order any tool online and they will ship it to you with free shipping. That's sure going to be a nice deal for me.

I have always drank the Snap-On kool aid and now this makes it much easier to get my fix.

For any of you youngsters wondering what the hell I mean by drinking Kool aid, Google "Jonestown". The older guys here will know what I am talking about.

That's nice to know about. I can't say that I have all Snap - on stuff but they do have some nice tools.

On a side note do you know why there are never any jokes about Jonestown? It's because the punchline is to long.

Uh ... it does have something to do with Snap-On. Most avid Snap-On users will NOT consider purchasing any other hand tools. Period.

^ He meant Jonestown doesn`t have anything to do with Snap-On in response to someone asking what the connection was.

Re: Snap-On tools...Do you drink the Kool Aid too ?

Yeah, I've always drank the Snap-On kool-aid too. Since I quit wrenching I've flagged down a passing Snappy truck a few times and got some busted stuff replaced for free, but my screwdrivers are so old now that the trucks don't carry them anymore. Interestingly enough however, you can still get them off the website.

Man! Jonestown happened 31 years ago?! I remember it like yesterday.

You know, I have two sets of Snap-On screwdrivers for that very reason. My dad gave me his old style Snap-On screwdrivers when I was a kid. Back in the early 90s when they went to the new style and phased out the old handle, I bought a set with the new handles to use everyday so if I busted a handle, there would be no warranty issues. I couldn't stand to turn in a broken old style one for a new style replacement. Now, I use my dad's old type ones strictly for light duty work.

Shoot. I just went to the Snappy website and looked for those screwdrivers and they're gone. They must've been selling off the last of their stock last time I checked. I guess there's always Ebay next time I need a replacement for my set.
