I think I have decided that I want to go with air ride now. I already have all the stuff that comes in the A.R.T. kits but the bags, cups and plates. My question is: is their some where I can just by the front and rear bags and cups and plates for my truck (1968), I am just trying to save a buck by not buying parts twice. Any ideas, w/ part #'s, would be appreciated.

What brand of bags seems to be the best quality, and I mean ride quality too. I don't know to much about air suspension so I am trying to learn. Also how do you attach the rear bags? I saw the plates and cups for the front but what do you do on the rear???

slam specialties are probably the best bags out there... your going to want to use the 8in bags. and depending on how you want it setup you can do bag over axel or bag on bar

I was thinking bag on bar would probably be the way I want to go. I am not intrested in putting in a 8" notch or cutting up my bed and stuff I want the truck to look like it came that way from the factory. I have a cpp c-notch already for the rear.

So how do you go about mounting the bags where the stock springs were?

The bottom of the bag bolts right in like the stock springs on the trailing arm. For the top of the bag (where the air fitting is), you'll need to drill the 3 required holes in the bottom of the frame.

I was looking at the slam specialties bags and I see they make 3 different psi rated bags a 200, 400, and 600 psi bags, I plan on still pulling a boat trailer on the weekend with my truck so what would be best and do I run the same size and psi rating bags front and rear, say 400 psi??? the boat ways about 4000lbs and my half ton silverado pulls it great and dosen't squat but about an inch or two. Oh and I am running a small block in my truck in case that matters.

I plan to pull a 4000 lb. trencher with my truck and am waiting on my Re-7's to come in

I'm gonna be run'n Re-7s all the way around

I dunno why you would want to run a Re-8, like Bones suggested

Skunkwerx, do you have a pic of your truck all aired out? About how far are you from laying crossmember/frame and what size tire you running? What bags are you running also?

The 20/22" combo, I am looking at actually running 22" all the way around on mine. Are you running a c-notch or a step notch?

the front still has the inner fenderwells,about 1.5"off the ground.the back is just a bolt in c-notch.

i live in sayre, ok west on I-40.

in front i have spindels,bag in place of coils.in the rear i have bolt in c-notch,2"lowering blocks,extended pan bar,bag in place of coils&1.5"spacer on top of bags.

245/35/18 dont know how tall it is off hand,but no it dnt hit the inner fender.

The 1.5" spacer on top of the bags? Is that in the front or back? Does that make it lower?

The 'spacer' is for the rear bags.
It does not make it lower.

The 'spacer' makes it easier to install the bags because it eliminates the need to drill the required holes in the bottom of the frame rail.
