wheels
So I have a 64 body on a 72 frame. 5 lug.
What's the offsets? I would like 7 or 8 wide in the front. 9 wide in rear. I'll be dropped about 4" up front and 8" in rear.8id like a nice fitment without rubbing. |

Depends on what diameter rim, and how much tire you want, and how much drop you actually end up with. The 64 and 72's frame should be pretty much the same, but I'm not sure if the cab mounts are in exactly the same place.
Basically what I'm saying, is the only way to know is to actually measure. There are just too many variables for someone to tell you for sure what will fit. For example, I fit a massive 12" wide rear wheel and drag radial under my rear end, but it requires an 8.5" backspacing. The track on the 72 is around 1.5" wider front and rear so fitment will be different than a 64 frame.

The rear cab mount brackets on the frame need to be changed, as well as the radiator support mount brackets need moved. Then there is the issue of the front frame horns being different and also the absence of the radiator crossmember. But all in all, the '67-'72 frames are basically the same as the '63-'66 frames and do work good when a different frame is needed. Just be sure when you do swap frames that you do follow the requirements in your state regarding a frame swap. You will have a different VIN on the cab than on the frame. That may or may not be an issue. Just be sure to check with your local DMV before you get started.

Well i know that the tire sizes will be 15x7 on all corners. with 227/75/15 radial gt white walls.
the back spacing on the rims i want are 3.75" so it looks like i will need spacers to get the fitment i want. but we will see. |
