Auto shifters

Hey Guys,
I'm looking for some opinions on auto floor shifters. I'm getting all my stuff together for my tranny swap, and I just don't know what shifter to get. I like the 23" Lokar, and the B&M Megashifter. Who has what, and why did you go the route you did?
Thanks,
Tim

I went with the B&M for the old school hotrod/muscle car look. Just built the console out of wood.

Re: Auto shifters

I got the B&M light truck Megashifter, around $170 shipped on eBay - cheaper than Lokar, but for me the decision was made because it will switch from 3 to 4 speed automatic by removing a pin; easy install, looks and feels nice

Re: Auto shifters

Wow! QWYKTRUK that looks sweet. Got any more pics of the inside, or out side too for that matter. I never thought of building a console. What a great idea.
Steverino, the light truck shifter is the B&M I've been looking at. I do like the bend in the 23" Lokar, but I'm yet to see one with a boot.
Lets see, and here from some more you guys. We have 2 votes for B&M

Re: Auto shifters

I have the 28" Ultra Shifter from Genie. Its awesome! Was nervouse about it being overkill for the cab but it actually sits just right. Really easy install too. Reason I went with the Genie unit over the Lokar, 1) more options in knobs to use. 2) heard a lot of stories on Lokar's buttons sticking and or popping out of gear while driving. 3) Price is cheaper but quallity is just the same or better.
Seems like Lokar is popular just cause thats what a ton of the street rodder and boyd/foose type guys use in their garage queens. Ill post pics of mine later on.

Re: Auto shifters

I have a Lokar automatic shifter in mine. It was in it when I bought it. The only problem I've really seen with it is that when I took the truck to have some front suspension work done to it the guy who pulled it in the bay didn't know you were suppose to push the button in the center to shift through the gears and when I got in it the gear shift was pointed towards the steering wheel. For some reason people don't notice the button in the center. The trans is a Turbo 350.
