Finally getting my 76 ready

My truck should be ready in about a month from paint. Here is how it used to look in farmer green (going to miss the green...but not enough to keep it that color):

Here is how she is sitting now getting ready for final body work and paint:

I am running a 5/7 static drop and will be switching the wheels out to Centerline 22" smoothies in flat black with 55 chevy hubcaps. I am installing sloshtubz to eliminate rub. Also putting on a 74 original grille that I got in the original GM box. Both bumpers are snugged up to the truck and everything is getting smoothed out but the door handles. Then I will put on a new trim kit.

Also got one piece power windows for it.

I am trying to decide between black&white or tan&white......what are your opinions on color?

Keep it green and put white down the middle.

Re: Finally getting my 76 ready

Tan and white will look more clean, but its harder to get "wow depth" and reflection with white. So i say black and tan.

Re: Finally getting my 76 ready

I'm going to have to see what it looks like. I really like the green but that is just me. That's a good looking truck and I can't wait to see the wheels on it.

Re: Finally getting my 76 ready

Have to say that is a cool truck already, and getting better by the sounds of it....

I have to say IMO that green rocks. Maybe green two toned with say chevy's cream white??? Some metalfake maybe??? Some of chevy's C10 stripes from back in the day???

Keep the pictures of the progress coming.

Re: Finally getting my 76 ready

well after a bunch of work on my 76 cab....i have determined it is beyond repair. Picked up an 84 cab that i am taking back to 76 specs and also smoothing the firewall in the process.

here is the rust that is the show stopper on the old cab

here is the 84 cab i found pretty rust free

here is what i got done this weekend on the 84 cab....stripped it down and cut out the dash.

Re: Finally getting my 76 ready

welp after debating I did decide to keep it green. Tweaked the green slightly though. Tell me what you think. It will have a subtle black pinstripe to echo the old trim that isnt being replaced. Here is the bed in its new color

here is the firewall with the pinch welds removed

here is my new custom drip rails

LS3 has arrived from PACE Performance and getting bolted up to the frame soon. Need to decide on a rear end now and brakes.

Porterbuilt arms and sway on the way as well!
going with a ididit steering column and Dakota gauges and a black leather interior.

Do you think this truck should have the white stripe down the middle of the truck or keep it one color?

I've always liked the two tone better.

Looks great! I'd leave it all one color with maybe the top of the cab painted white. That green looks awesome.
