I wish I had a better picture of it, when it was on our lane. You could see the exhaust, oil pan, whole underside, I have never seen something torque over that hard, and he never let out

What did the big red monster run? What engine/tranny could lift that high and have that much torque?

The red truck ran mid 10's. It sure surprised me. I was on the other side of the track,... I saw the roof and a good look inside the bed. It was a crowd pleaser. Look here for alot of the cars/trucks that raced. They are listed under the dates 6-27-2008 and 6-28-2008 (both A and B) listed at the bottom right hand of the page.

The guy with the diesel truck said it normally runs high 9's to low 10's. I think it ran a 10.47 on this pass.

I was pretty suprised to see the motor looked stock in the duramax truck, I could see it had head studs, but not a bunch of trick parts like you normally see on a drag car. It looked to have all the stock harness. Def a neat truck.

I second that.. I think that its awesome that the classic is still alive.. Not in some junk yard somewhere like you find most of the newer vehicles..

Cant wait till I get mine up and running the way I want it.. Paint etc..

The GMC needs some frame work to make it launch strait. Just imagine if all that power went to the wheels.

You'd be surprised, but the VAST majority of that is suspension. Mine used to launch like that and I did some work on the suspension and got it to leave like a pro stock car. I initially thought the same thing that it was twisting.

Best pass with the old dragtruck:
5.32 @ 131.6 mph 1/8 mile w/ a 1.25 60' Fogger/Plate 2003

Best pass with the street 406 hydraulic roller motor w/ mild plate tuneup
5.93 @ 114 mph 1/8 mile w/ a 1.29 60' 2003 or 2004

Thanks for posting the pics. I love the D-Max stepside!! You do not have to do much to the D-Max to get it to go fast.. (And you can drive them to the grocery store when you are done at the track) I have been contemplating installing one in the 67 Panel Project, but I hear it's a nightmare to do right now. Maybe some day they will come up with a kit. WES

That one had a motor plate type setup, The motor looked smaller in physical size than I thought it would be, looked maybe a little bigger than a big block.
