What a day ...fixed one thing now another ...

Well been home so I drug my ash outside and adjusted the exhaust and welded it up tight on the 72 so I did not have to hear it leak. Then decided to work on the problem of sometimes running like total crap. checked fuel lines again, replaced filter, took carb off and cleaned it out. no dirt to be found. checked wires all good, checked plugs Damn it !!! I have a # 7 that is whitehot crusted (thats very bad) rest all perfect. replaced it runs good low rpm or slow climing through rpms, If you goose it it pops through the carb steady with engine speed.this is causing the carb to act crazy until you shut it off and restart. so I know I'm looking valvetrain. Took the valve cover off and the # 7 cylinder is dead cam lobe almost worn off AHHHH!!!!!! so I guess i'm pulling the motor for rebuild or replace with the one from my 67 ....... Ever have one of those days ?

Yep, those days suck for sure. Had a nice 350 that ate 4 lobes and all that metal didn't do anything else any favors.

My 350 when I got on it...it would pop thru the carb. I know the cam lobes are bad in it.

One of those days? Nope. I never get lucky enough to figure out what the problem is. I just go through life getting boned and not finding the issue... LOL just kidding. I feel for ya.
